I got this stereo as a Christmas gift last year and if I had to rate between, poor good and excellent, I would give it a good. If you live further away a higher quality receiver maybe better. I will admit its better than the portable radios I've reviewed but I honestly think the reception on this thing could be better. Have to hear majority of radio stations in Mono because the static with the FM is too loud. I wish radioes would stay with the "silver stick" antenna where all you had to do was turn of the stereo not like these wire antennas where you have to reposition constantly. But the only annoying thing I cannot get rid of the AM type static of hearing stations in the background off. CD is pretty good but the radio reception is something different. You won't know if you try it first.
Have to reposition the antenna in 3 different places just to hear the radio. As far as the radio goes, I don't recommend this product if you live in a Dorm but good for home room and apartment use if you live in an actual city. I've played with this antenna more than actually listen to the radio. Is anyone having issues with these wire antennas.
I got this stereo one christmas, and the speakers weren't as powerful as I thought. I got some stereo system speakers and hooked them up in the available jacks it has in the back. The system actually held up(which impressed me) and could take the sound produced by the speakers. Overall pretty good system, but if your not satisfied with the sound, do what I did.
I like that is has a remote to control the basics. fits in small places, which is what I was looking for. Cannot read the clock, hardly, way to small. The remote does not control the tuner or to switch to the cd player. Only the power volume and skipping tracks, stop and play, but in order to play the cd player has to already be in cd mode. The quaility if great and the design is awsome. Cannot imagine where I would hang in on wall. Our room is not quite set up that way,but fits perfectly on top of our small bookcase.
Great and easy to handle product.Reception of radio not as good as wished for but CD player works fine and is a bargain deal if you are in need of something good for your work or kitchen area.
This coby stereo has a really modern, slim look to it. I also don't like how there is no display showing the current volume level. One is that the connection between the speakers and the main box is bare wire.
The sound quality is alright. While setting it up, the wire actually broke on one connection, so I had to strip it down to get more surface so I could connect the speaker. I like how it doesn't take up too much space (although the speakers are a little bulkier than the main box).
This was annoying because I had to fiddle around with the wire until the sound came through, instead of just plugging it in like normal speakers. what do you expect from a system that only costs about $40. There are two things that I dislike about it.
It works fine now. On the other hand, the remote has a decent range of reception, and the aux port is good for attaching my mp3 player.
